Fuel Injector Question

I went to pull the fuel injectors so I could send them off to be cleaned. Since this is a 2005 boat, this is probably the first time they've been pulled and they gave me a little bit of a fight. Some of the injectors popped off the rail rather than out of the manifold so I hope I didn't do any damage. My guess is that the injector clip just gave way.

Also, I noticed some of the injectors I pulled didn't come out with the o-ring. They were still in the manifold but I was able to get them out. In the picture below, I noticed the injectors that didn't come out with the o-ring did not have that little plastic piece at the tip of the nozzle. I did not notice this until after I closed up the boat so I didn't look yet to see if they just might be sitting in the port. I'm a little concerned now if they may have fallen into the manifold.

Next question because I can't seem to find the answer in the service manual.
What kind of o-ring lube to use?
I googled it and the answers are all over the place....use engine oil, ATF, silicone, vaseline. Which one is it?

Yeah if you ask two different mechanics you get three different answers...

that's because any of them work just fine - grease (must be Bondo's Any Grease...) , Vaseline, oil, spit what ever you have will be fine don't over think it. Just need to allow it to slide a bit
