Fuel guage wiring

I have a built in tank with a 50 HP merc. Does anyone have a wiring diagram how to hook up an instrument panel fuel guage?

Sorry, should make a list of questions first.Could anyone please tell me the year of this merc 500-50 HP. Serial # 4578870.Cant find a model number.

Built in tank only has a postive & ground...<br /><br />On tank unit you will see a threaded type rod @ 3/4-1"... this is positive... use nut w/lock washer.<br /><br />The connection on side is ground...<br /><br />The tabk unit acts a reostat & as float travels w/fuel level in tank transmitts voltage to guage.<br /><br />I hope this helps
