I have a Johnson Tracker 40Hp motor and would like to know if there is suppose to be a fuel filter under the cowling. I am having trouble with the fuel flow. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks ahead of time.

Re: fuel filter

Welcome to Iboats! There's not any filters under the hood, you should use an inline filter, similar to automotive but clear. Add a water separator to be safe.

Give us more info on the motor, specifically model #, look on the transom mount for the ID plate. And give more details about the problem with fuel flow, as it can be the carbs, the fuel lines, the bulb, the gas tank itself, or fuel pump on the motor.
