fuel filter 150 pro v

I have a 1991 pro V , that has a fuel filter under the cowl it is clear plastic which looks kinda dark amber now . I wonder if it is time to change this .
It looks like it should screw apart, is there an element inside I have tried to twist it open with no luck, or is this a one piece unit?

That plastic thing is the filter housing. It unscrews and will look amber from years of use. Inside is a serviceable fuel filter that can be cleaned out. If you have a fuel/water separator that serviceable filter should be pretty clean though. You can get some phase separation in there settled on the bottom of that plastic cap though. I always empty it out after winterizing the engine.
