Fuel Consumption

Hello,<br /><br />Can anyone with a Classic 115hp Merc tell me what fuel consumption the use?<br /><br />I have a 17 foot something V hull Fibreglass boat and use about 3 - 4 Gallons per hour at 3500 – 4000 rpm<br /><br />I thought this was pretty good<br /><br />Thanks <br /><br />Rhys

Sounds pretty good. I burn about 7 miles to the gallon, which ends me up at around the same, 3-4 gallons per hour. My motor is slightly older being a 69, and it is a 125 horse.

I'd believe 6.5 to 7 gph ... no way 3 to 4 gph at that power setting.

Those loop-charged engines are really good on fuel. My brother changed from an in-line six (90 hp) to a 3 cylinder 90 (basically the same as the 115, 4 cylinder) and halved his consumption.<br /><br />Chris........
