Hello guys,
I just rebuilt a little 10 horse 1959 Johnson and it runs real sweet. One of the changes made is the introduction of a fuel pump so as not to have to deal with different type fuel tanks in a boat. That works fine too.
One thing that bugs me is the fuel hose connector on the engine end.Do these things come with check valves? The one I put on there just leaks fuel the moment I disconnect the supply hose.
Another thing that I wonder about is whether to plug the air pressure supply for the pressure tank or to just let it be.
Thanks,rolmops

Re: fuel connector.

You have to plug the air line on your QD or fuel will shoot out the line as you run.

Like the check valve idea. My 4HP spits gas like crazy yet my 9.9 doesn't leak a drop after disconnect. I just wonder what a "medium" fuel line size is. By all means let us know what you find. Rick.

Re: fuel connector.

99% of all motors do it. some of the new connectors has a check valve.

Forget about the link I sent for the check valve for medium sized fuel line. it came in the mail and is much to small to allow enough fuel to pass through. Maybe would work for a 3 hp motor, but nothing bigger. Ronnie
