Well I have been restoring my dad's Alura 30 to get ready to sell and it has all been going great, but I did run into what might be a problem today.
I decided to stick my fuel tanks since I wasn't around when the boat was pulled out of service about 1 to 1.5 years ago. The boat holds about 200 gallons and the tanks are about 1/2 full so I figure I have close to 100 gallons left. I also just dropped a new engine into this boat so I don't really want to take a chance on ruining it. So here are my questions.
Is the fuel to old to even use?
If it isn't to old should I add an additive or something?
Should I just add maybe 50 more gallons to help "mix" it up?
Or should I just hook up the fuel lines and hope for the best?
If I were just dropping in some old engine or using the one that used to be in it than I probably wouldn't worry about the fuel. I am sure that you guys can understand my problem since I am dealing with over $300.00 of fuel. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
