Couldn't sleep last night, got up then decided to reply to Will C. "WOT rpm's of an alpha one" Then after a lengthy reply, right near the end, of my reply it wiped out on me! :mad-new: disappeared off the screen! AAaaaaaaaAAAAAHHHH!!!

WHY DID IT TIME OUT ON ME??? I can't even remember what I put down? I am so frustrated right now!

Yea, that happens to me . . . more as a matter of accidentally hitting some wrong keys while typing. There is a 'restore auto-saved content' feature on the reply messages. So, if you did not successfully reply and you immediately reply to that same message, it should ask (lower left of reply box) to restore auto-saved content . . .

I do the same thing more often than I should admit. Sometimes when I have a long post going, I will copy it so if I or the computer messes up for any reason, I can just paste it and click reply.

Also when you have long post going that is taking a long time to write out due to something like you walk away from the computer for a while, be sure to click preview a few times to update it as there is a time out token programmed in the forum system. Don't ask me how I know this.:blue:

A few times I have been lucky though, if I had clicked on preview then somehow I lost it, I was able to click on the back arrow and find what I wrote still in tacked.

Sorry you went through that as I know the feeling. I just try to laugh it off now and say ah forget about it.

PS, out of frustration I think you posted in the wrong forum.....:D:D:D

Well it's too late now however, the system does an "AUTO SAVE" and if you hit the "Post Quick Reply" again it will ask you if you want the auto save content. It happens to me on occasion when I get diverted away from the computer.

I feel your pain........I belong to several non boating forums that are not on the v bulletin format with the auto save, And if I am doing a long winded technical post I have to write it in notepad then copy/paste to the thread....... talk about a pain in the rump roast.

Thank you gents, one and all, you have made me feel better, and I learned a tip to try in case it happens again. ;)

Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place, I wasn't sure where to put it?
