frist boat need info on outboards

i just got a 1973 19 ft chriscraft dolphin trill hull with a 307 Chevy motor. i know alot about car motorcycles ect. but i am new at boats. how do i find out what outboard i have?? i know there was 3 kinds stingray, cobra and king cobra. the name plate is not on it all i have is model# and serial #. plus i know it is a omc. plus is their any links or site that i can get a diagram of it.

Hello and welcome to iboats.

First off, you posted this in the Mercury/Mariner outboard forum. You seem to have an inboard/outboard (Automotive engine inside the boat and an outdrive on the outside of the boat).

Second, you say it's an OMC. OMC and Mercury are compeditors.

This thread belongs in the OMC I/O forum.

You have a Stringer drive, not Stingray. It's an electric shift.
