I will soon purchase a new 18' bowrider with a 4.3 I/O. I will use the boat in South East Florida (will not keep it in the water). I would like to hear an opinion on whether or not to install a freshwater cooling system. Any particular opinion on whether the Volvo or Mercruiser impeller will provide sufficient volume would be appreciated. (I know there had been some discussion in an earlier post on that topic.) My main interest would be the opinion on whether it is worth spending the ~600 USD and the hassle or not.

Ask George at www.boatered.com. They sell the heat exchanger, and he should be able to tell you about th water pump, I seen on one of the boards that the later model mercruiser<br />did not pump as much water as the old ones.
