Everytime I try to use the winterizer in my freshwater hoses the pump never just sucks it out of the bottle..I always have to Dump it into the water holding tank to get it to the sprayers. Only problem this causes me is that it takes too long in spring to finally flush it all out....So I disconnect the pex pipe from the water tank..stick it in the 1 gallon bucket of pink fluid, turn on water pump and pump goes on but sprayers dont. Shouldnt it just suck it out of bottle or does it need to be closed/pressurized? Now I hook up compressor and Just blow it all out but Im wondering if its not working right. 2003 searay 240 sundeck. It has 4 separate sprayers.

Chances are the pump is a volume pump and not a displacement pump so it cannot "lift" fluids. In other words the pump works because the fluid in the tank flows by gravity into the pump. If any part of the intake hose is higher than the pump inlet, it won't work. Stick a funnel into the end of the hose and pour the pink stuff in. It should then pump.

Its a Sure flo pump and Once its Primed up its not a problem ..I was considering the funnel but once I blew all water out I figure Id just leave it..Seems like priming is the key to this. The pump is placed below every line on the boat..It goes down to pump then pump pushes back up to lines...I'll climb on tonight and check which model it is and go from there and post it.

If it's a diaphram pump it is a positive displacement pump but it probably does need to be primed.

Upgrade to what? There is nothing wrong with the pump. It just needs to be primed. Put a rubber band around the trigger on the nozzle farthest from the pump. Stick a funnel in the intake hose, turn on the pump and pour the RV anti-freeze in slowly. When it comes out the other end you are done.

It just never seemed to have a strong stream of water, I mean It works well enough so I'll just stick with it. There are no leaks so I guess I'll leave well enough alone
