Hi Guys,

I have a 1988 Sea Ray with a 1988 4.3 liter Mercruiser and have a chance to get a fresh water cooling system out of a 1997 bayliner with a 4.3 liter Mercruiser. The system is complete with all hoses clamps and brachets. Will this bolt right up to my engine?

Re: Fresh Water Cooling System

Not a good idea, most manufacturers give an engine 125 hours or 1 year of use as max before installing a closed cooling system.
What happens is the rust and corrosion inside the block ends up flaking off and clogging the heat exchanger between the tubes which will cause an overheat. You can't get to those tubes to clean them out either.
You can give it a try if you want, I've changed many for customers. Had about a 50% success rate.
