fresh or brackish water??

Hello. Is Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire fresh water or brackish (spelling?) water..??

It is quite a way away from the ocean (37 miles by road) and there isn't a large river that goes right from it to the Atlantic. Plus it's a little hilly up there, I don't think the tides could rise high enough. It's fresh water.

If the lake is tidal then it probably has salt water present.

Thanks for the replies. I bought my boat from NH that has spent its life in that lake. Advertised as fresh water but I have come to realize that for the sake of sales, some consider "brackish" water as "fresh" water. Its now cooling its hull in Lake Ontario!
