Fresh Cab for storage?

I've never had mice in my new boat, yet, but I want to keep the critters out.
I know mice make beds out of bounce sheets so I'm not trying that again. And I have seen mouse crap and pee and nests right beside mothballs so that's also out.
I have read that Fresh Cab works and I was wondering if anyone has tried it?
I suppose someone will tell me the mice ate it?

richoman, the irony is deep, but our unheated garage is so cold, that mice don't even bother attempting to come aboard seeking warmth. you might have a similar opportunity in the great white north? otherwise, we belt and suspenders with both tonneau and mooring cover belted tightly.

It gets -45 here. I have had trouble with mice in my tractor and trucks in the past. But you may be right. A tin boat is pretty cold.

otherwise, the only thing that works in our attached garage which stays a bit warmer is poison or traps. but to your point, one must then be committed to a scorched earth policy as both attract as bait - agree to never put either in the boat.

What's "fresh cab"?

You might try a bit of USED kitty litter, the smell of the cat pee would keep the mice away.

I know this method works for keeping deer out of my crops.

We used to put mouse poison in our unheated cabin, they would come in,have a field day, party all winter. In the spring was alway's a mess.
One fall about 15 years ago,I forgot to put poison out, went there in the spring, not a sign of mice anywhere! Haven't put any out since, never had another problem with them. If you don't feed them, they just leave.
