Ive got a 1987 bayliner 18ft. bowrider cobra W/125 force and you have to fight the wheel to the left or it will spin to the right and go out of control. It has a basic rack teleflex system. Is this normal? Nothing appears to be broken. This thing could kill me!

Pulling to the right is normal, but from what you are describing it sounds like it's a little excessive. I have a 1988 Bayliner Cobra with a 125HP motor. Play around with the trim, bring the motor up a bit. Also adjust the trim tab (exhaust snout under the cavitation plate) so that the back edge of the tab is towards the left when looking towards the front of the boat standing at the stern.

If the boat turns hard right, turn the snout to the right.Hard left turn it left.
Like pnwboat says some pull is normal because of the thrust from the motor.J
