Free Mercury 5.0

Actually it's not free to you, but to a work buddy of mine. He won it at a sportsman show. Got the motor, gas tank, etc. Complete package. I haven't seen it and he knows nothing about boats or motors. All he told me was it's a 5.0. Anybody know what that is and what it's worth?

Its gonna depend on what brand and whether it is a 2 cycle or 4 cycle motor.<br /> A 2 cycle lists for about $1200, and typically sells for around $1000 new.
