Looking for guidance on a fuel gage issue. My gauge seems to read about 1/2 tank more than actual. I have pulled the electronic componenet out of the tank and manually moved the float up and down and it will read about 1/2 when it whould be empty. Is there any way to recalibrate the gauge or sensor to read correctly?

You can bend the float BUT thats about it as the ODD shape of the tanks and the way the boat moves around makes most fuel guages good for empty and full at best

With the sender removed, if the gauge does not read empty with the float hanging down, then the sender is bad. Check the area where the arm pivots. It may be hanging up on something. Measure the resistance. Should be 33 - 240 ohms as you move the arm.
