I have a honda BF15 only a month and already the starter rope is fraying.
Turns out the motor was delivered to me with the starter rope sliped off the front pulley on the starter (where the rope leaves the housing) this made it hard to start and caused the rope to fray within a few pulls.
There are 2 dealers one 40 and the other 60 miles from where I live. One dealer told me to call honda and see if it was covered under warrenty and the other selling dealer after I drove 60 miles to his business told me he was out of honda starter rope and he would call me when it came in.
I am so sick of the honda dealer BS that I am ready to dump the engine.
I have done the 20 service myself and guess I will have to repair the recoil starter myself as well.I even wrote honda customer service in geogia and ask them to have a factory rep. call and it never happened....BTW I live in the KNOXVILLE TN. area.....

No doubt about it honda has one of the best engines out there, and there are a lot of good service techs. ,but there are a lot of service people that don,t give a **** ,That is the reason I do my own service.
Thanks to iboat for this website and you guys exchanging information there is very little we can,t do ourselfs.
