Re: Found another Sea King 12hp
Well I picked it up today and wished I found it when I was rebuilding the other one, could have saved about $60 over the cost of buying it. Its in pretty good shape but I don't think I well bother trying to rebuild it, definitely possible though. It well be used to keep the other one going for another 50 years. Here are some pics.
It was already taken apart by the original owner? The gentleman that I purchased it from acquired it when he helped an old lady who's husband died clean out her garage, apparently he was into rebuilding outboards and this one was in progress of being disassembled when he passed so consequently the can with all of the fasteners has gone missing. He also had a motor that looked from the 20's or 30's that was in good shape for another $25 but I really couldn't justify getting it and it was missing the tank and some other small parts, real neat looking though.
Lower unit and prop look good, just a bit dirty is all so that's good.
He also had another random propeller from what looks like a 3 hp or so but I have no clue, if anything I can get real classy and:
Anyway, not bad at all for $25, I am also going to swipe one of the transom bracket screws for my 5D10.
