Found a reason to like facebook.....Finally!!!

Well, although many have friended me on facebook, I don't often visit there, it seems like a big waste of time! But last Friday, I got a friend request that I never expected to happen. I have been estranged from my daughter for many years now, but she actually requested to be a friend on there, talk about being blown away, it has taken me a week to send her a message. I have been able to read her page and look at her pictures, I have a grandson as well as son in law!

So I guess, this whole new social media thing, does have its benefits! Who would have ever thought, that after 14 years, you would get to know your kid on facebook! WOW!

Most of what is on the Internet, is a "big waste of time". Look how much time we spend here.

IMO, facebook usually takes an unecessary beating.

It's a great place to meet , re-connect and communicate with others. I can also get out of hand, just like everything else.

I use FB once in a while.

MT - glad to hear the family news . . .

Facebook was cool and everything when it was new, but now it seems boring. Linkedin is also another site, like facebook.

I have been able to get in touch with some folks that I have not seen nor heard from in years (like 20 years) with both of these social media sites. So, I guess these sites have a purpose.

As far as my kids . . . one friended me on Facebook, the other did not. At least they call often.

Guess I'm just not that big on reconnecting with the past. Old college or highschool friends that have friended me never want to talk, just post aconstant stream of photos and updates on everything they're doing moment to moment. Its not for me.

I have no desire to reconnect with anyone from my past!(maybe that cute little blond I was friends with over 30 years ago)!

But my daughter who I have not talked to in many years, that is a different story!
