When I start up my engine (Mercury 70 3 cylinder) it starts just fine but when I try to move the throttle forward it seems to take a long time before the engine starts to rev up. When I go into reverse it doesn't take long at all. Going forward it seems to take about 2/3 of the range of forward motion before I notice any difference in idle. That last 1/3 has all of the increase in RPMs though.
Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'm thinking I could just tighten the throttle cable some or maybe I need new controls... idk.
Thank you in advance and thank you for all of your other help on other threads that I have been lurking in
