Hey fellas I am new on here but I've got a question hopefully when you guys can help me out with. I had the lower unit OMC 800 go out on me, and then purchased one from an aftermarket companies in Colorado. The unit that I am replacing is a hydromechanical drive, I was informed that I had to replace it with a fully mechanical drive. The problem is everything works great except when I put it and forward it goes in reverse and when I put it in reverse it goes forward. I call the company that basically insisted that we replaced it with a new cable assembly so we did, the company is saying is there's a way to reverse or inverted the cable assembly and make my shifter work correctly.  Can anyone help me with this scenario, so I can let my mechanic know he's baffeled also? Help!!!

Hi Sewey, and welcome aboard.

I don't know the mechanical shifts enough to answer your question. Do you have a manual for the drive?
