So I had the boat out on the river a week ago and I had a blast! Three days later my son shows me that the lower drain plug is missing on the lower unit. So I give the prop a spin and it sounds like the lower unit is full of sand. Yesterday I dig out the manual and start tearing into it. Pretty much am replacing every moving part in there except the reverse gear!
All the bearings are bad and I found that the pinion gear and the forward gear both have broken teeth on them. I have had this outboard for about two years and have never hit anything with it. It's a 1987 Evinrude 110 hp. Model #E110TLCUR.
I will order my seal kit and bearings and thrust washers from here at iboats.
My issue is dropping $300 bucks for the gears. Does anybody know where I can get them any cheaper? I have found complete lower units for just a little more than that. I understand that they are no longer available from BRP and ********** doesn't carry them. Sierra is the only manufacturer that still offers them from what I can find.
Heck I'd even take a good used set.

One of the guys over at AOMCI came through for me with OEM parts at almost half price.
