Forum question: Sent Messages

I've noticed that many of my sent private messages don't show up in my "Sent" folder. I use the @ - contributor name. I can understand why some may be hiding behind the couch when I message, but I want to be sure I'm following the correct process. (??)

Using UserName is only for Mentioning a contributor as in harringtondav

A couple of ways to address a PM;

• The easiest is to click the member's username and then click Contact Me. The PM is pre-addressed.
• The other way is to Click on Your Messages after hovering your username on top of a forum page, then clicking Compose New. In the address block, just start typing the Username and a drop down list shows choices.

I've gone real basic, but using UserName as a PM address is only filling up the PM Dead Letter office, not your Sent folder. Only validly addressed PMs are saved in the Sent folder.
