I have a ford 351 pleasurecraft in a 32 carver that is not getting fire. It has electronic ignition but not sure if it is factory. It will produce fire when the switch is turned on or off but not while the switch is in start position. I have changed the silenoid, coil, the ignitor, and the switch. I was told there should be a electonic control box but can not find for either engine. I am about out of ideas does anyone have suggestions?

It depends on the year
If it had points to begine with it has a two sided balast resistor.
One side gets battery voltage wile in the cranking position of the key switch the other will cut the voltage in half with key switch in run.

Best test is to put battery voltage to + side of coil and check to see if it will start jist remember you will not be able to shut the eng off with key switch.
This test will tell you if your ignition system is working or not.

Ayuh,... I'd imagine the ignition gets it's power from the outside tiny terminal on the starter's solenoid,...
Start there with a test light, or multimeter...

I tried the battery voltage to + side of coil but not starting still just get a spark when key is turned on and off. I connected both leads to the battery voltage terminal on the ballaster I don't think voltage needs to be cut in half with the ignitor installed.
