I have a 1990 Force 120 that I'd like to replace the tilt pump valve on due to a small leak down. Are they pretty easy to change out?, 4 mounting screws out, replace with new, 4 mounting screws back on? Just not sure if something on the inside is going to fall out. I'm going to replace it while it is on the boat upsidedown. Natually I will have to re/mount the 4 lines. thanks for any input on this.

Have you thought about rebuilding yours rather than a replacement?

It is easier to take the pump off whole and then split the valve body off the motor. Mostly due to the difficulty of reaching the back oil tubes without stripping your threads. In the long run it is easier to leave the back two tubes attached to the pump, disconnect them from the rams, and remove the pump asa whole.

I would learn to live with your slow bleed down until you are ready to rebuild yours. I think 120HP is too big for the chinese valve bodies. No matter who you buy from and no matter how much you pay any new valve body is still Chinese and it still has softer metal. So just learn to live with it until you can spare a week or two to rebuild your existing one.
