I have a 1988 Force 125 motor that has a couple of spots where the paint has rubbed off. I'm having difficulty in locating Force dark blue outboard paint in single aerosol cans. I found one source but I suspect it is by the case as it was priced at around $90.00. I see paint for most all of the newer Mercury, Evinrude etc., but not for the older Force engines. Is anyone aware of a source or an acceptable substitute?

Regards,

Ed

Re: Force outboard paint

I believe your local Napa/Uap store could probably mix this for you and put it in an aerosol form. I have done this before. You need to clean up a (nice) portion of your hood and take it down to them. They will hit it with their spectrometer and mix up the paint according to what it reads. They usually need a target of something like a 3-4" square area to get a good scan of it.
The price from what I recall was about $15/can. The colour I had mixed at that time tho' was not for Force colours but an older truck touch-up colour I was having a hard time locating. It was well worth it and allowed me to do some nice touch-up matches...at least as well as aerosol paints/painting can do. The color was accurate.
Good luck and keep us posted.

Never thought about NAPA. Great idea! I'll check with the dealers too. Thanks for everyone's response. Your input is much appreciated. This forum has been really helpful.
