Force on mercury tilt

Any of you force guys know if you can hang a 89 force 50hp on a old double ram mercury tilt that once held a 73 mercury 500 50hp?<br /><br />please say yes

Yes.<br /><br />But not without a ton of adaptation. The biggest hurdle would be to get the driveshaft to fit into the crankshaft. That's one of very many hurdles that would make it impossible from a Practical standpoint. You would have an easier time with a newer Force that used the Force powerhead mated to a newer style Merc lower end.
