Firstly Welcome to Iboats! You will find a lot of useful information here, and very helpful people as well. Your question didn't make much sense to me- can you elaborate? Its a 2 stroke, so it will be smokey, weather that is excessive I don't know. Post a pic or video? Fuel from lower unit can only be a fuel leak- but from where? Check your fuel pump. The fuel pumps are easy to work on yourself, and kits are readily available if this is the problem. Its hard to say what the problem may. Please rply and try and be a bit more specific if you can.

Cheers

Profile? Basics,compression/spark then fuel system.Install a water/fuel seperating fuel filter.
Make sure your running 1 pint to 6gal of gas.
Then explain your question a bit better.J

If I understand what you are saying, when you are running the engine it smokes - that is pretty typical of these engines, at idle they are fairly smokey depending upon the age of the gas, amount and type of 2 stroke oil, was it mixed correctly and whether the idle mixture is correctly set up. Also the carb floats may be too high. It's not a big problem unless you do a lot of idling.

As for fuel in the water, that can either be normal depending upon just how bad it is (over rich idle mixture makes this even more apparent) or it could be a fuel leak which would be obvious if you run without the engine cover in place. Culprits are the hoses and the joints, fuel pump/strainer gasket and the fuel bowls on the carbs - again it will be obvious.
If it's a light film on calm water then that's pretty normal.
