Hi. I have a 1993 Force 90 and I was wondering if I need to do anything to drain water from the engine for the winter. I heard that some outdrives can freeze and parts can be ruined. Thanks for the help. Also, what is a L-drive? I'd like to find out if I have one.

Thanks again,

Reese

Re: Force 90 Winterization

Have you ever wanted to take 'yer boat out to the middle of the lake, pull the plug and swim back? If you have, you quite possibly have an L-drive.:D

I'm the owner of one such animals... looks like an I/O, but it's basically a 2 stroke engine on a funky lower unit.

On this same subject, is there anything I should do differently to winterize the L-drive? I changed the gear lube, pulled out the plug on the top of the engine, and dumped RV antifreeze down it until it ran pink out of the exhaust, and fogged the engine, then removed the battery. Any other ideas?
