force 85hp, '86

i was at the lake and reaching adequate speed when my engine stalled and would not turn on. just a day before we were at the lake and the engine was doing fine. what could it be?

It could be many things. Most outboard failures are fuel related, so the fuel system should be checked out first. If that is okay, check for a spark at the spark plugs, while they are grounded. If you do not have a good repair manual (Seloc, Clymer), buying one may be a good idea as a way of approaching the problem.
