I recently inherited my grandpas 89 Bayliner with an 85 force motor on it. It sat for quite a while so rather than have something go wrong on the lake we rebuilt the carbs and changed the impeller, plugs, gear oil, along with a couple of other routine maintenance things. We started it up at home ran great no issues, we got to the lake and I think we flooded it starting it again. Anyway I popped the cover off to see what the issue was and noticed water filling the midsection(exhaust housing?) of the motor. Is this typical or do we have a leak somewhere? The boat ended up running fine regardless of this issue I'm just not sure if we missed something putting the lower part of the drive back together after changing the impeller or if this part of the motor is supposed to have water in it. I'm not to familiar with all the ins and outs of outboards. Thanks for the help
