Guys,
Doing a bit of work on a Bayliner I picked up. REPLACED - Water pump check, plugs check, fuel filter check, timing check, went through carbs check, compression test check (lowest piston from bottom 129 - highest 141 top), fresh gas and oil check.
When I first got her she ran a bit rough, idled a lot higher and didn't want to pull out of the hole very well, spudded in mid range but top end wasn't bad. Well now I got the motor running like a top!! Starts first piston up, runs great. Took it to the lake ran it for over 1 hour non stop today. Good power and top end but the thing idles at like 10 mph. As you know this makes it hard to put in and out of gear. So how do I sent the idle, by the linkage rod that attaches the throttle tower to the cable? It seems to be pulling all the way back. Could it be that the carbs are not set right on tower sync plate thing? Should I take the set screws lose and make sure the carbs are shut the way it sits on the cable now?
