My motor on the last trip wouldnt idle in reverse. Somewhat dramatic stalling while sideways in a haulout area, fortunately started ok.<br />reading my new Clymer workshop manual, I see it is recommended if using a testing tank for tuning to fit the correct test wheel. This is defined as a standard 13 inch prop modified to 9 inch.<br />Is this refering to the pitch?<br />That is ,a 9 inch is quite fine pitch and wont push much water while in the testing tank.<br />is this correct?<br /><br />I am thinking of building a test tank for tuning<br />as the only alternative is to tie the boat to a wharf, not so convienent.The public could watch me drop my favourite wrench into the harbour...
