Re: FORCE 50HP. CARB. BOWL HEIGHT

Is carb WB? Should be stamped on the side. Did you recently rebuild it. If not the upside down setting should be 13/32 from very bottom of carb (now top because it is upside down) to bottom of float (which is also upside down.) Turn carb right side up and the hang from side farthest away from hinge is 7/8 from bottom of float to bottom of carb lip.

The only spring I know about is the spring that goes to the idle mixture screw. If this is a rebuild kit you are installing and the float needle has a rubber tip then the upside down adjustment should be 1/2 inch.

The spring on the float pin is a helper spring for the float, the float is to heavy for that carb. Without the spring or incorrect installation of spring will cause carb to leak, engine to run rich, or both.
