the most peculiar thing happened last time i was out on the lake...(grab a beer and enjoy the read. oh yhea the eng its a 1989 force 50hp)
after cruising up the lake full trotle no problems for about 40min i noticed the tach bouncing all over the place. humm, i said, but dirregard it just as a loose wire scince it seemed to bounce more or less with the wake.
then on my way back the eng just cut out after 30 min. wot (i was using autolites spark plugs)... no smoke. no weird noises. no nothing. i had fuel, but it seemed like i wasnt geting any spark... then i took the plugs out and they seemed loose. well, after swaping my ngk's and 15min. later the eng. ran good and i made it back on my own but the tach still bounced.

so now im thinking and HOPING it was just loss of compression due to lose plugs and nothing to do with the ignition coils! any way to check them with a multimeter? odd thing is when the tach problem happened if you backed down the trotle the tach started to work fine.

also the motor wants to die after a wot run and you go to idle. when cold it idles at around 1,500rmp but afterwards 800 and seems like it will die. im going to mess with the mixture screw on top of the carb and set it out 1.5 turns after seated. on starting im not sure of if im floding the motor or what but i seenm to have a hard time starting the eng in the lake after the 1st run. it will rarelly start on the 1st try and seems the more time you let it seat the easier it gets to start on the 1st try! any sugestions????

one last question, how strong the stream of water, telling you the impeller its working, be on these engines??? sorry for the long post. any help is greatly apresiated.
WISH ME LUCK ON THE WATER THIS WEEKEND. will keep you posted. (if i make it back ha)
