Force 50 ID revisited

Hi again,
First I want to thank iboats.com for providing this forum. Excellent information, particularly in the FAQs. And thanks to the folks who provided the FAQs and knowlegeable answers to our questions.

My '86 (?) Force 50 is turning into a learning experience. Using the 3 serials provided by LakeRunner, I now know that the choke solenoid is the device under the carb housing. I have removed the choke solenoid and still can find no serial #s.

Should I remove the carb housing?

I have found a part number that appears to be part of the cover and support plate assembly (in front of the baffle intake) that doesn't appear on any of the three models for '86... 433036... I guess I need to get on chat with the crew next week. Hmmm...

Identify the ignition system, and you can get pretty close to the year.
most of the other parts were interchangable.

Thanks, Roscoe... can you tell me where/what on the ignition system? I think it's an '86... there were 3 models that year. Is the ignition the same on all three? Many/most parts were on all three (ie; carb, etc)
