force 50 hp hard to start and wont stay running

just bought a 88 16' bayiner capri .. motor is a force 50 hp . i have cleaned out the carbs changed the plugs and fuel line plus bulb all new . still i cant get it to fire up and stay on it , pops alot when it is running and i'm thinking the timing and gas to air mixtures are off . anyone know how to time the motor and or tune the carb?

yes there are plenty of people that can help you with that, but you really should do a compression test first. Then make sure you are getting spark to all cylinders. If that checks out ok then move to fuel/mixture or timing.

yes there is spark .. havent done compression test i guess compression is good cause motor did run well just didnt stay on or started well
