force 150hp f5 won't start?????

Hi & HELP PLEASE.<br />i have the above mentioned motor, the problem is that it will not start. sat for three years and upon recieving this did the following: drained fuel tank, cleaned carbs, new plugs, replaced bulb and fuel hoses(pumps up firm now) replaced fuel w / fresh fuel and oil,i have plenty of spark but engine turns over really slow. without the plugs it spins very fast.(what did i forget)<br />help please. - Echoes

If the battery is three years old it probably is bad. Take it to an autoparts store and have them test it. Are you using a marine battery with wing nuts? You should check all contacts and make sure they are clean and free of corrosion. Also when you try and start it are you pushing the key in to choke it? When you push key in you should here a loud click as the selonoid opens the choke on the carbs. You need to make sure you have good contact on battery or contact resistance is too high and you will not have enough current to start motor.

Ive got the same moter:also when you get it up and running decarb that thing 2times a year ,mine is a1990 and still has 155lbs in each hole.what year is yours and what boat is it on .
