I have just purchased a 1990 Force 15 (I know they are hunks of scrap metal). It runs very well but I notice black oily sludge leaking from the water outlet (heated water outlet from the water pump) after I have run the motor. Could this be a head gasket problem?
I was running the motor the other day with ear muffs and I don't think the engine was recieving enough cooling water. It appeared as though one of the cylinders got very hot as smoke was coming from the head gasket only around one cylinder.
I'm thinking I'll just replace the head gasket to be safe. It appears to be very easy.
Any help/thoughts would be appreciated.
