Force 125hp

Seems to slip (clank) the more rpm's put to motor. trolling speed seems ok. Disassembled and found clutch a bit worn. Instead of paying over $600.00 for new clutch and gear, can the clutch and gears be reversed?

Actually you can but if you can have them machined to square them off again it will be better.

Should I have the gear machined also? What pitch should the dogs have on the clutch?

Post pics of the parts???
The dog can probably be swapped or flipped.
The gears don't swap.
I think it's 90d.
Just look at the good end.
A good machine shop can resurface the set.
Lots of times they go bad because of cable adjustment.
Sometimes slow shifting will hurt.

As Jerry said, there's nothing more destructive to clutch dogs than easing in the control lever when engaging in gear. Instead, place a marker where the gear fully engages in forward and reverse and slightly slam the lever up to the marker when engaging in either gear.
