hello everyone:
i just bought a 88 bayliner w/ a 88 force 125 engine. i took it out for a test drive last monday and saw that it was not peeing when the engine was out of the water. but when the lower unit was completely submerge it will pee a nice stream of water. so i change the impeller and the casing. i ran it out side with the elephant ears and it work fine it will through a nice stream of water even at high rpms. but took it out agian on friday the same thing happend, only when the lower unit was complitele submerge would it pee not when it was running. i don't know what to do now. if any one has some input on this it will be greatly appreciated.

Re: force 125 water problems

I've read this thread 3 times and I'm still not sure what you are trying to say. Here's my attempt at a translation. The engine won't pee when the boat is on a plane at speed but will pee when the boat is sitting still and the lower unit is deeper in the water. The engine will pee when its in the driveway connected to a garden hose with an engine flusher. You have replaced the waterpump housing and the impeller and the problem remains. Is this accurate? My engine won't pee when its out of the water either, but that never bothered me :D

Re: force 125 water problems

high

did you add the tell tail kit, or are you talking about the idle exhaust relief holes in the back of the motor .if your talking about exhaust holes the reason for those is when the motor is still in the water it cant get rid of its water and exhaust, so they put the holes there so it could .then once underway there is a vacume created that draws out the exhaust and water through the gear box and you wont see much ex\water out the back hope this helps bret (EDIT: Sounds too much like solicitation, Bret. JB)
thanks,Bret

when you say in the water, do you mean sitting idling and if this is the case, yes expect alot of water out of the back .it is starting to sound like you are forcing water through the engine on the flushers ,and your pump is not working correctly????????? post with more info do you have your overheat system working bret
