My friend has a 125 or 120 force ob motor 1980’s.. His motor will not get up to speed very fast. He said that it takes like five mins from the time he give it full throttle till the boat is at full throttle. He said that it sounds like it is bogging while it is slowly picking up speed. He has taken it to a few mechanics and spent a considerable amount of money trying to get it to pick up speed the way it should. I have experience with 2 stroke atv’s but never worked on a boat motor before. Is there anyone who could give me some ideas on what could cause this? I would GREATLY appreciate it. As of now, he can not even pull a skier and he is very frustrated. I would like to help him, but I need to see if someone could give me some ideas on how to proceed.

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try a little choke when it bogs.If it helps it indicates a poor fuel supply.Usually a dirty carb.
A Force repair manual would be a big help.It would have trouble shooting and tune up help.

You may want to check the prop to see if it is the proper size and pitch for the motor. Too large a prop or too high a pitch on the blades will simply overpower an engine.
