Force 125 Remote

HI All

My remote goes from 3/4 throttle to Full Throttle in about one inch of travel. I have been warned off trying to adjust the remote myself, I have a couple of questions:

1: Will a Mercury Remote do the trick?
2: If I change the remote, will it rectify the problem I am having- should I look into anything else first?

No a Merc wont work.The connectors on the shifter might be in the wrong hole.Take it off the console and take a pic of where it connects.Post that and I'll look.Jerry

2 things.

1: Do I just dismount the remote, take a pic, and post ( internals), or do you mean the actual stick- remove & take a pic?
2: Whenever you are in town, you are welcome!

If you need to replace the whole thing I'd go with Teleflex 1700 series. It's a little pricey but well worth it. It comes with a detailed installation manual for all different motors including US Marine/Force. Besure to shop around, different sites have different prices. Expect to pay between $250-$350. Hope this helps.

Remove from the side console.Your console might come off easier than removing the shifter.You might need to remove the handle.I need to see where the cables connect on the back of the shifter.And where it connects to the motor(just for fun).
