Force 125 not firing

I just bought a 1985 Bayliner bass boat with a Force 125 on it. I put new gas in it, cleaned fule lines, and not starting. I cleaned the plugs and found out that I am not getting a spark on numbers 3 or 4 but 1 and 2 are strong as heck. Could it be the wire? I read that the wires were steel and didn't go bad but that the coil might be the problem. Any suggestions that might be able to fix the problem? Hoping that it is something real simple and relatively cheap. I payed 2500 for the whole package. Thought it was a deal that I couldn't pass on. Please help!

Re: Force 125 not firing

First check all ground wires and plugins for good connections.

checked all connections, plugs are good and found out that numbers 3 and 4 are dead and when the wire packs are changed, the same problem occurs. I think it is the cd pack that connects to wires 3 and 4. Any ideas on a cost?

I've seen the the blue Prestolite CD Modules on Ebay for $65 or so used, plus shipping.

Re: Force 125 not firing

well, checked all wires again and found that when i swapped the coils to see if the #3 was bad, I had put the wrong wire lead on it. I switched them back and re-wired it correctly according to the diagram on the motor and then put the carb covers back on (which were not on from the beginning) and with a little choking and fingers crossed, she fired right up! Hooray, I get to put it in the water this weekend before storing it for the winter. Thanks to Master Chief for the help and postings. Wish me luck.
