So I've come to the conclusion it would just be best if I rebuilt my motor. It's a force 120 and I'm not 100% sure on the year but judging by my last thread it's probably a 1990. Does anyone know about how much this sucker weighs so I can find the right or build the right stand? I could use some tips on the easiest way to get it off the boat and onto the stand as well if anyone has ever done so. Thank you guys.

Re: Force 120 Weight

It weighs about 275-300 lbs. A Stand made of 2 X 4 s and BOLTED together will hold it safely. Do not nail it, especially on the clamp mounts as the engine will pull out the nails.

2 men and a boy can manhandle it off the transom although, I am not particularly big and I have gotten them into my truck bed alone. If you have access to an engine lift or a chain hoist, it makes life a lot simpler. I have a hoist and I switch engines more often than I change underwear--Ohhh! There's too much sharing! LOL. Takes about an hour to unmount one and replace with another.

You can loosen the mounting bolts and raise the front of the trailer until the skeg hits the ground, then lever the engine around and onto the stand. However, if you try to manhandle it with others to help, PLAN your moves first so everyone is on the same page and no one gets hurt.

All in all, really not that difficult with a hoist or with some help.

Look in the engines-non repair forum. I am pretty sure there are engine stand plans there.

Castors are of great value.

Extra width helps too, gives a little better access.
