force 120 hp l-drive no power wont crank out

Here is my problom, I have replaced the stator and have checked most things out but need some help figuring out why it wont turn up at high end worked fine but then just wont crank up. Had the same problem a month ago then changed the cdi module and still didnt change anything until i was running it in the water at wot which was rpm about 2700 and i was playing with the trim popped the prop out of the water and motor spead up and put prop back in and she took off like a scared cat. I am lost to why but i had fun for about a month then now back to doing the same thing again.. Any suggestions for me PLS.

desperate person miss the speed.. seems klike she is running on 3 cylinder not four

dont just throw parts at it. trouble shoot to solve the problem.. have someone squeeze your primer bulb at wot and let us know what happens.. also check your timing. give your prop a good spin in neutral on the trailer.. it should spin very freely if not your lower unit could be acting up.(least likely but it does happen)

Check your Recirculation system!!! Including the little "vacuum" lines that go from Carb vent to flame arrestor. I had this same problem and ended up throwing $1100 at it just to find out that I had a vent hose stopped up, not letting fuel go through the top Carb. This may not be your problem, but I would have saved $1099.90 if I had checked it first!!

Well i checked out the compression they all checked out good between 120- 140 but the problem seems to be that the # 4 cyclinder has no fire. I dont know how to check the cdi unit or what the problem could be pls any suggestions. and tried to squeeze the primer ball at wot and motor kinda bogged out when i did it. so that wasnt the problem.

i had a similar problem recently and the way the previous owner and i fixed it was by looking at each connection wire for the ignition system the ground wire for some reason vibrated loose and the cdi was not ggrounded properly so of course wouldn't crank but once we tighten the grounds it started like a champ good luck

Thanks i have checked all the ground wires and the motor does run but no fire in number three cylinder can the CDI module be bad one just one cylinder miss firing or is that impossible. One other thing before I was able to run it up to about 2500 rpms now cant get past 1200 or so . really putting damper on my boating time when cape boats pass me LOL. By the way the lower end is free and no abstruction spins free. How do you check CDI or triggier..
I am going to run new grounds to the cdi and coils. today heres to hoping..
