For the Merc 150 type of plugs?

Which plugs are better to use in my 1985 Merc 150, the center fire type ( NGK BU8H ) or the standard type, I do not know the plug no. for the regular type.??

Claywake, Just put new set NGK in my 82 150 Merc. Seems to run OK. My original manual calls forBUHW plus ,so thats what she got

I just got a manual, for my merc 150, it calls for BUHW NGKs so that's what she will get, thanks for the info.

Clay, a service bulletin from merc put out a number of years back specified the BU8H as a replacement plug for all mercs v-6's....they tend not to foul as easily at low rpm's......

Thanks ODDD1, I was hoping that was the case, I had been using the NGK BU8H, but my book says to use NGK BUHW, so thanks for the info.<br />I fixed my fuel pump, one gasket was wrong, now all the plugs are burning clean, and idles great.

this mercury bulletin, which engines did it happen to cover?? I have an '82 90 HP inline 6 that takes the buhw plugs......is this not right??<br /><br />Thanks<br />James

ODDD1 says this for the V-6 I am not sure for the L-6, but my plugs are burning great now.Mine is a Merc 150 1985 year.
