Don't use motels much, but when I do I get my annual membership cost back in one night. Did before I turned 65, too. <br /><br />Yes, it is worth it.

I have found NO benefit at all with AARP to date. I get a motel discount or Corp. rate equal to AARP. The monthy mags are OK but they tend to spotlight senior celebrities like Paul Newman, Tina Turner etc. They are wealthy people, I am middle class (maybe) Ain't apple to apples.

Whenever I have traveled I have compared prices and AARP has always beat out AAA on hotel/motel discounts.

Insulted me when I was 49... but we did compare prices and always seem to beat them when going out of town.
