JB,
Did what you said with the WD-40, idle picked up quite abit.. As it was burning the WD-40 out I could pull the plug and the engine would bog down like it should. Out of curiousity I also sprayed into the other 2 carbs and they reacted alittle but not like #3. Does this now call for a caeb rebuild?? I figure I should probably replace the plug wires and points while I'm at it. ???

Good show, Wmsclan! Yes, you have a carb problem that a good cleaning should solve.

In future exchanges, please continue the original thread so that other readers can put the story of the problem, diagnosis and fix together and learn from it. When you add a new entry (reply), the whole thread gets moved to the head of the line; you wont get buried.

Red sky at night. . . .
JB

Re: For JB, Dead Cylinder Issue

JB, just finished rebuilding the carbs, seems as though I have regained power to the lower cylynder but have another problem/question.. What is the proper setting for the low idle adjustment needles. Try to set with ear but with 3 carbs it gets alittle difficult. I screwed them in all the way and backed them out a 1/2 turn and the 2 top cylynders seem to be running pretty good at that setting the number 3 seems like it wants some more so0 I gave it a full turn. Engine sounds great when you bring it up but idling its alittle rough, not bad. Just curious to an exact setting??

Howdy. You have done what I would do. I might tweak around a bit, seeking that sewing machine idle that those looper threes can have, but I would do it after running under load for a while.

Red sky at night. . . .
JB
